Things That Go Bump

And those things are generally making contact with me head. Now that I can crawl anywhere and try and stand up against everything, I keep bumping my head on things. The other day I bumped it on the windowsill and actually got a bruise on my forehead. It's my first bruise so far, but I expect more in my future. You can kind of see it in the picture, it's a little red mark on my forehead.

9 Months

I really am a little man. At my 9 month check up I weighed in at 17 lbs and 12 oz (10%) and was a lengthy 26 7/8" (5%). I was full of energy and right on schedule developmentally so all is well.

I got to spend Easter with Gran. She came to watch me while mummy & daddy went to Austin, TX for a nice couples weekend. They had a great time and so did I. Mummy & daddy were grateful for Gran giving up her vacation time to stay with me and I was delighted to show her all of my new talents. Thanks Gran!!!!

Art

To welcome daddy home from one of his many trips and to welcome Gran for her recent visit I did some art work. I may have had a little help from mummy, but I was always the artistic director.

Birthday Buddy

A few weekends ago we got together with a bunch of daddy's high school friends and their families. The Hamiltons, Andrews and Atkins were all there as were Steve & Amy. Needless to say I had lots of friends to play with. Mummy couldn't miss the chance to get a picture of me and Emma as she was born 3 days before me. Mummy remembers that Emma was due almost a week after me and still managed to come before me, which at the time made mummy jealous. I think she's over it now though.

Techno Geek

I love technology. Anything with buttons, switches or keys and it's mine. Mummy had her computer, camera and cell phone on the couch today and I just couldn't help myself. I started by trying to charm my way onto the couch, but when that didn't work I tried to climb up myself. It didn't work yet, but I'm going to keep trying.

Flower Power

Not only am I not a fan of grass, I'm not a huge fan of flowers either. Ok that's not true, after I got over myself I realized that I can grab these flowers and pull them out of the ground, which was a sure way to get mummy to pick me up! :)

While we were in Arizona, we visited a dude ranch where I got to see horses for the first time. I was a little afraid of them if you must know the truth, but let's be honest, their heads alone are bigger then I am. Later in the day however, I did find a horse that's more my speed and I had a great time.

Highlights

Don't let her know that I told you, but mummy spends a lot of money on highlights to make her hair look interesting. Too bad she doesn't have my hair. We still don't know what color to call it as it seems to be growing in both blond and strawberry throughout my head. Daddy wonders if all of mummy highlights cause natural in-utero highlights to be developed. You be the judge.
